Big Day Yesterday - will be SBR

Fri May 16, 2008 7:56 am by Brandi

Mostly - I feel some journaling pages coming on - with a deep, meaningful photo Wink

It constantly amazes me how these kids just, 'bam!' all of a sudden are more grown-up. Had two of those moments yesterday - one for each girl, no wonder I'm getting so much 'extra light blonde hair' Shocked

Anna: at the grocery store, she's doing great shopping and then as we're checking out, all of a sudden she leans over, gives me a big hug and says - totally unprompted - "I wuv you Mom." and then gives me another hug and a kiss I love you I love you I love you sunny flower This was her first time saying it without one of us saying it first, usually it's in response to us. Doesn't that just make your heart melt!?!?!?! My first 'I love you' from the baby Sad( That girl is getting soooo big! (totally a tangent but yesterday 3 people at the grocery store kindly offered up how giant my girl is - thanks.)

Ella: Today she has this birthday party to attend. I'm wondering what I'm going to do with Anna because she was definitely NOT included on the invitation. So, I call our neighbor to see what she's doing with her other child during the party - maybe one of us can watch the kids at home, one watch the kids at the party. Something we do occasionally. The other mom tells me she's going to keep him with her - at home! I was so confused - she was leaving Lizzie at the party by herself? I gotta tell you - this is not something that ever crossed my mind! So, I call the hostess and she tells me that she thinks all the other moms are doing kid drop off. Color me Stunned! I didn't think she was old enough to just drop her off to par-tay Wink

What did make me feel better about that is when I asked DH about the party today he asked what I was doing with the baby during the party - He was also stunned when I told him it's a drop off. Neither of us were quite ready for this step!

I have no question she'll do wonderfully - I just was not prepared for this to happen so soon - I thought maybe 5 or 6...maybe, quite possibly, I'm a teensy bit over-protective? What a Face
