Embossed Borders
Create striking embossed borders on your card blanks which look exactly like luxury ribbon!! It's easy. Stick a strip of double sided tape across the chosen edges of your card blank i.e. top and bottom edges, right edge, bottom edge only etc. Peel off protective backing. Sprinkle over embossing powder, tap off excess and heat with a heat gun. Try gold embossing powder on a red card for a traditional effect. Add borders to loads of card blanks to decorate afterwards! You could also sprinkle glitter over the sticky tape.
Shrink Plastic Buttons
Take a sheet of shrink plastic and an average size rubberstamp. Lightly sand the plastic sheet, stamp with Stazon and add color if desired with colored pencils. Punch 2 1/8 holes and using a round punch. Punch out and you a button size place on a heatproof surface. Hold a heatgun over it - watch it curl then shrink and flatten. When shrunk, it resembles a button. Use to highlight your cards or glue onto jewelry findings.
Alternatively: Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Place design on nonstick tray (if desired) for 30-60 seconds until shrunk.
White On White Stamping
Stamp a design on white glossy card with white pigment ink then emboss with clear or white powder. The image looks almost invisible - but not for long. Using a brayer, roll on a multicolor inkpad then over the card, including the embossed image, in random movements. Use a cloth to polish your embossed image. This removes the multicolor ink and reveals a striking crisp white stamp design.
Embossing Corrugated Card
Transform dark corrugated card (i.e. from a chocolate box) into luxury mounts for stamped art. Drag a gold pigment cube over the ridges of the card, sprinkle over gold or clear embossing powder and heat. Either make your finished card into mounts for rubberstamped art or cut into shapes and decorate card blanks.
Embossing on Embossing
The next time you emboss, before the design has cooled, sprinkle over the image with clear
embossing powder and return to heat. The result is more glassy and raised than usual. You can add further layers of powder for an increased effect. Sprinkle fine prisma glitter onto the hot embossed image and reheat to add a sparkle then sprinkle over more clear powder to seal.
